One more month!

School is almost out!

I love school but am ready for summer! We are so close, one more month. I have my UBBT Quad 2 test on drills coming up soon, and then I am free for the summer.

Looking forward to summer camps, vacation with my family, and going to the beach. I am also going to take the Financial Peace Jr. course, work on iXL and some third grade summer courses, and VBS.

I have been getting ready for Quad 2 but not sure what it really is other than drills. It is always hard though, but it feels so good to earn it each time.

Mattie’s Wedding

My cousin Mattie got married a couple weeks ago in Charleston. My whole family was there, all my aunts, uncles, cousins, and meemaw.

We had so much fun. We went to the beach and played in the sand. I got soaked! We ran around between the hotels, from one room to the next — my family seemed to have much of the hotel. It was so fun. I watched everyone one dance, and later danced myself! It was so fun.

Gardening and exercise

At my house, we have a couple gardens – a vegetable garden, and a water garden. The vegetable garden has all kinds of good to eat veggies and herbs in it. Mint and herbs grow all year. The other stuff dies in the fall and gets composted.

The water garden is something new this year. My dad and I dug a 8 feet by 2 feet trench, lined it with plastic pond liner, and filled it with water. Then we put some dirt back in it and some sand. Fish were next, little goldfish and guppies. Now will go some water plants and we want to plant rice.

All of this is good exercise and also very interesting. Some of it we have learned about in class like the life cycles of animals and insects. I learn about that every day at home. It is so fun! And helping my dad move loads full of dirt is good exercise!

Spring is finally here

Spring is finally here! Next stop is summer!

From Wikipedia:

Spring (Template:Sprɪŋ is one of the four temperate seasons, the transition time between winter and summer. Spring and “springtime” refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, renewal and regrowth. The specific definition of the exact timing of “spring” varies according to local climate, cultures and customs. At the spring equinoxdays are close to 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses.

Meteorologists generally define four seasons in many climatic areas: spring, summer, autumn (or fall) and winter. These are demarcated by the values of their average temperatures on a monthly basis, with each season lasting three months. The three warmest months are by definition summer, the three coldest months are winter, and the intervening gaps are spring and autumn. Spring, when defined in this manner, can start on different dates in different regions. In terms of complete months, in most North Temperate Zone locations, spring months are MarchApril and May, although differences exist from country to country.[1] (Summer is June, July, August; autumn is September, October, November; winter is December, January, February). The vast majority of South Temperate Zone locations will have opposing seasons with spring in September, October and November.
